Retreats

  • to care for yourself, since you care for so many others
  • to take a break from the stressors of life
  • to get a fresh perspective and break out of a rut
  • to get back in touch with your truest self
  • to make new connections

There are so many reasons that people choose to go on retreat. Taking time to nurture yourself, spending time reconnecting with the natural world, dedicating time to examine where you are and where you want to be – all are valuable. I have seen amazing breakthroughs and sudden insights happen on retreats. I have witnessed people forming deep connections with those they just met the day before. The power of vulnerability experienced in a safe community can be the catalyst to growth and development in surprising ways.

I look forward to working with you to plan your group’s next retreat. Whether it’s a day-long session or a weekend retreat, we can work to meet your group’s goals with activities that engage everyone in meaningful ways.
Retreats can include:

  • Yoga for all levels
  • meditation or contemplative prayer
  • relationship-building activities
  • creative projects, arts & crafts
  • singing in community
  • leadership development
  • one-on-one coaching sessions
  • project planning
  • Christian worship or Bible study
  • outdoor activities

I have experience in leading group trips overseas, including pilgrimage trips to ancient spiritual centers, and can help you customize an experience for your group. I also offer retreats for women. Locations may include an economy retreat center on the Isle of Palms, SC, or a luxury cabin outside of Asheville, NC. Please contact me to join the waitlist for one of these seasonal retreats. Kara

Wherever I am, the world comes after me.

It offers me its busyness. It does not believe

that I do not want it. Now I understand

why the old poets of China went so far and high

into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.”
